The raw food attractant gel attracts gnats and flies by stimulating their sense of smell. The fruit, beer and balsamic vinegar flavors that gnats love are blended with soy sauce (fish sauce) and alcohol. The addition of fish sauce and alcohol attracts not only gnats but also larger types of flies.
The two orange colors attract gnats and flies visually. The container is clear orange, a color that attracts gnats and flies. The sheet is made by layering two types of orange, and is expected to increase the level of attraction.
